Why Save the Block? Most foreclosure prevention programs focus on the individual consumer and fail to provide assistance that maximizes the impact on specific communities. In contrast, NCRC is focused on finding sustainable and outcome-driven solutions through a neighborhood-by-neighborhood approach for communities struggling though this crisis. Our inaugural Save the Block Party! events kicked-off September 13th at Watkins Park, Prince George's County, Maryland, and September 20th at the Fairfax County Government Center in Fairfax County, Virginia--and were designed to assist two counties facing a recent and dramatic increase in foreclosures.
